THE HISTORY OF “HOSTI”

1949 Company founded as ”Hohenloher Papptellerfabrik“ by Emil Stickel in Untersöllbach, Neuenstein.
1953 Moved to Pfedelbach, Nonnenbergweg.
1963 Accession of the two eldest sons Siegfried and Gunter Stickel into the company.
1979 Distribution of product lines under the brand name “Hosti”.
1982 Large fire destroys the complete warehouse.
1984 Commissioning of the first embossing- / punching machine for party plates which was developed by HOSTI, 14 others will follow.
1986 The Production Hall is expanded to an area of about 4,500 sqm.
1990 Warehouse for raw materials constructed.
1992 Paper napkins are added to the product range.
1996 New distribution warehouse constructed.
1998 Takeover of “SAKRA Pappteller GmbH” together with “Zechel Pappteller GmbH”.
2000 Storage warehouse capacity increased to 10,000 pallets.
2002 Quality management certification achieved to ISO 9001:2000
2002 Takeover of “Papptellerfabrik Oertz & Co.” Hamburg
2003 Change of the company’s name from “Hohenloher Papptellerfabrik” to “HOSTI International GmbH” on January 1, 2003
2003 Mr. Hansjörg Stickel of the 3rd generation joins the management on July 1, 2003
2005 Takeover of “Zechel Pappteller GmbH” from Altlußheim with 25 employees on January 1, 2005.
2007 Our new unique showroom opens in Pfedelbach on February 28, 2007.
2007 Outsourcing of the mechanical engineering department to “ES Evo Tec GmbH” as a fully-owned subsidiary of “HOSTI International GmbH”.
2008 Controlling interest in “Pfiff-Kuss GmbH & Co. KG” (second largest manufacturer in Germany).
2009 Mr. Markus Stickel joins the management.
2009 Our turnover achieves 45m euros, making us the largest manufacturer of paper plates throughout Europe.
2009 60th anniversary of HOSTI.
2011 The Company’s founder Emil Stickel dies at the age of 93.
2011 Takeover of the remaining shares of Pfiff-kuss GmbH & Co. KG in July 2011.
2012 Turnover hits EUR 50 million.
2012 Expansion of our FSC certification to 100% pure.
2014 Takeover of “Tedeco-Gizeh GmbH”, Offenburg
2014 Turnover hits EUR 75 million.
2014 65th anniversary of HOSTI
2014 Opening of a new production facility in Hronov, Czech Republic
