Company history


1949 Company founded as ”Hohenloher Papptellerfabrik“ by Emil Stickel in Untersöllbach, Neuenstein.
1953 Moved to Pfedelbach, Nonnenbergweg.
1963 Accession of the two eldest sons Siegfried and Gunter Stickel into the company.
1979 Distribution of product lines under the brand name “Hosti”.
1982 Large fire destroys the complete warehouse.
1984 Commissioning of the first embossing- / punching machine for party plates which was developed by HOSTI, 14 others will follow.
1986 The Production Hall is expanded to an area of about 4,500 sqm.
1990 Warehouse for raw materials constructed.
1996 New distribution warehouse constructed.
1998 Takeover of “SAKRA Pappteller GmbH”.
2000 Storage warehouse capacity increased to 10,000 pallets.
2002 Quality management certification achieved to ISO 9001:2000.
Takeover of “Papptellerfabrik Oertz & Co.” Hamburg.
2003 Mr. Hansjörg Stickel of the 3rd generation joins the management on July 1, 2003.
2005 Takeover of “Zechel Pappteller GmbH” from Altlußheim with 25 employees on January 1, 2005.
2008 Controlling interest in “Pfiff-Kuss GmbH & Co. KG” (second largest manufacturer in Germany).
2009  Our turnover achieves 45 million euros.
 60th anniversary of HOSTI.
2010 We have been certified according to the FSC® standard since April 2010.
2011 The Company’s founder Emil Stickel dies at the age of 93.
Takeover of the remaining shares of Pfiff-kuss GmbH & Co. KG in July 2011.
2012 Turnover hits 50 million euros.
2014 65th anniversary of HOSTI.
Opening of a new production facility and company founded HOSTI CZ s.r.o. in Hronov, Czech Republic.
2017 Change of the company’s name to HOSTI GmbH. Change of company address:
Emil-Stickel-Straße 6, D 74629 Pfedelbach.
2020 HOSTI receives the OK compost INDUSTRIAL certificate and the Seedling certificate for selected materials.
2022 We receive the Nordic Swan Ecolabel for selected materials.
2022 Harold J. Rubrech joins the management.
